Working remotely from Washington — my experience

I've been working remotely from Washington for 7 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Decent, getting better with new providers
Coworking spaces: Limited but the library works in a pinch

If you're looking for a place to WFH, Washington is underrated for remote workers.

The job market has been improving lately. Several healthcare companies moved in recently.

Coming from Houston, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are about the same.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Check out the University District area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 10 years and my experience is very similar.
