Pros and cons of Washington after 1 years

Anyone else feel this way? I've been here for 8 years and Rent is about $517/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Does this match your experience?

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in government. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Italian.

No regrets on my end..

I'm a marketing manager and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.
