Is Washington a good place to live?

Crime rate is something to consider -Washington sits at 263.1 per 100K. The median home value here is around $217,500, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. With a population of 14,948, Washington is a small town. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I overthinking this? The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The pet-friendliness scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The housing market is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

I'm a project manager and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Nashville about 12 years ago. The main reasons were family and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is challenging.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..

- Close to major attractions
- The public transit scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Road conditions need improvement

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.
