Anyone work in healthcare in Washington?

Alright, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $895 for rent here. Homes are going for about $121,000 on average. It's a a small town city with about 13,361 people. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Anyone in a similar situation? Looking forward to hearing from you all. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Raleigh about 6 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much wild but now it's hit or miss.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in The Heights area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
