Working in Washougal -salaries realistic?

Random thought, Poverty rate is 8.4%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance! The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I work in manufacturing here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is decent. No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is tough in most areas.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 5 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is tough - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Property taxes are high. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 9/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The community vibe is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
