Studio apartments in Watauga -options?

First post here. I'm a teacher here and Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $91,669 in Watauga. You can expect to pay around $1,826 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What do you all think? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The healthcare scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. No regrets on my end..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
