Relocating to Waterloo, IA -pros and cons?

Hi all, Homes are going for about $150,200 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I overthinking this? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. No regrets on my end..
