Weekend activities in Waterloo?

Been meaning to ask this. My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $896/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Anyone in a similar situation? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The housing market is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
