What to expect moving to Waterloo?

OK so I work in consulting and Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Waterloo sits at 451.8 per 100K. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in legal. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Korean.

No regrets on my end..
