Pros and cons of Waukee after 8 years
Hi all, Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Should I be concerned?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in retail. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Indian.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The housing market is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..
