How much do you pay for rent in Waverly?

OK so I'm a remote worker and Median household income is $49,519, which feels on the lower side for the area. With a population of 4,153, Waverly is a small town. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I overthinking this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Miami about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is decent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in East. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
