The good and bad of living in Waxahachie

Curious what people think. I'm originally from Minneapolis and It's a a smaller city city with about 43,591 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The community vibe scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 9 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
