Honest thoughts on life in Waynesboro

Hey folks, With a population of 5,700, Waynesboro is a small town. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- The dating scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in North. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Definitely worth checking out..
