Working in Waynesboro -salaries realistic?

The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $236,600, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Should I be concerned? Cheers. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely better than expected and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Old Town) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much manageable but now it's tough.
