Not sure if this has been asked before, but Household incomes average around $50,554 in Waynesville. Poverty rate is 10.3%, which is around average. Median household income is $50,554, which feels on the lower side for the area. Rent is about $1,105/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Is this normal for Waynesville? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
