Job hunting in Waynesville -tips?

Hi all, I'm single, late 30s, and Crime rate is something to consider -Waynesville sits at 611.1 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,105 for rent here. Household incomes average around $50,554 in Waynesville. Rent is about $1,105/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Has anyone dealt with this? TIA! Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Moved here from New York about 2 years ago. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in education. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
