Working in Waynesville -salaries realistic?
Longtime lurker here, I'm a remote worker and Household incomes average around $50,554 in Waynesville. Rent is about $1,105/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $254,800, which seems about average. It's a a small town city with about 10,408 people. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Should I be concerned? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
