Is Weatherford worth it salary-wise?

Curious what people think. I grew up here but left for a while. Household incomes average around $50,250 in Weatherford. You can expect to pay around $763 for rent here. Poverty rate is 10.6%, which is around average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely decent and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Sunset) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much pricey but now it's underrated.

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the North side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

I work in construction here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is average. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely improving and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Old Town) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Springfield area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.
