Housing market in Weatherford right now

Random thought, I'm a 37-year-old physical therapist and Homes are going for about $285,000 on average. With a population of 33,924, Weatherford is a smaller city. Median household income is $78,738, which feels about average for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I'm a writer and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Miami about 5 years ago. The main reasons were work and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
