Longtime lurker here, We have two kids and Poverty rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I overthinking this? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is average.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..
