Things that make Weldon Spring unique

Hi all, We're a young couple and Crime rate is something to consider -Weldon Spring sits at 26.1 per 100K. Median household income is $155,081, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $523,300, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $523,300 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Should I be concerned? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 25, moved here 5 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Maple Ridge and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Affordable housing options
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The traffic situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $100K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The food scene is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.
