Anyone else love living in Wellington?

Hello, Military spouse here. With a population of 61,497, Wellington is a smaller city. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any advice would be great. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've lived in Riverside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- The cultural scene scene is decent

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. No regrets on my end..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Westside. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in finance. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Boston it's excellent.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Riverside side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 31, moved here 3 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Eastside and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The nightlife situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for retirees. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor recreation is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..
