Longtime lurker here, My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a small town city with about 2,003 people. You can expect to pay around $1,264 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Anyone in a similar situation? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've lived in Uptown for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- The housing market scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Pittsburgh it's excellent.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much growing but now it's tough.
