Alright, Rent is about $1,397/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 9 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is improving.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 13 years ago. The main reasons were weather and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Uptown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The school system scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The walkability is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
