Considering Wentzville vs Boston -help me decide

I'm a remote worker and Rent is about $1,264/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Is this normal for Wentzville? Thanks! Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much competitive but now it's hit or miss.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great craft beer places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Westside for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- The housing market scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely pretty good and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Springfield) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 7 years. Moved from New York for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is average - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Limited entertainment options. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 6/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
