Just moved to Wentzville, any tips?

Hello, Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $1,264 for rent here. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Any advice would be great. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely solid and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Riverside) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 46, moved here 3 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in East and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The outdoor recreation situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for families. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $100K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Houston about 9 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
