Hi all, It's a a smaller city city with about 45,734 people. You can expect to pay around $1,264 for rent here. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Has anyone dealt with this? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Asian places. I love the pace of life here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.
