Things Wentzville needs to improve

Been meaning to ask this. I grew up here but left for a while. Household incomes average around $111,409 in Wentzville. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $1,264/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Wentzville sits at 205.2 per 100K. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Walkable downtown
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Limited dining options
- High property taxes
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Far from major airports
Does this match your experience? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely excellent and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Riverside) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
