What I wish I knew before living in Wentzville

Curious what people think. It's a a smaller city city with about 45,734 people. Household incomes average around $111,409 in Wentzville. Median household income is $111,409, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 45,734, Wentzville is a smaller city. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely solid and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Springfield) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in finance. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Meadowbrook for 3 years. Moved from Chicago for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Far from beaches/mountains. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
