Pros and cons of Weslaco after 2 years

OK so Homes are going for about $119,200 on average. Average temperature is around 75--F, so it's warm year-round. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I overthinking this? The suburbs are where most families end up.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much developing but now it's excellent.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- The school system scene is average

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is excellent in most areas.
