Random thought, Military spouse here. Homes are going for about $368,600 on average. The median home value here is around $368,600, which seems about average. With a population of 71,965, Wesley Chapel is a smaller city. You can expect to pay around $2,000 for rent here. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Would love some local perspective. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've lived in Old Town for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- The outdoor recreation scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 6 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into running, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely better than expected and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (West) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
