Rent is about $2,000/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 71,965 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Wesley Chapel sits at 409.1 per 100K. The median home value here is around $368,600, which seems about average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Let me know your thoughts. TIA!

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is average in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a real estate agent, 44, moved here 14 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in South and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The nightlife situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for singles. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $70K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Bought a house here in 2016 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 1 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Uptown for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The dating scene scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 7 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I'm a nurse who relocated here from San Diego about 9 years ago. The main reasons were school and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is improving.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Austin about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Springfield for 3 years. Moved from LA for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is decent - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Springfield schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Not very walkable outside downtown. And weather can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
