Hey folks, Homes are going for about $191,700 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Would love some local perspective. Thanks in advance! The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely tough and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (The Heights) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for family and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The housing market is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The cultural scene scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..
