Is West Athens worth it salary-wise?

I grew up here but left for a while. Homes are going for about $666,100 on average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Am I wrong here? Thanks in advance!

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Maple Ridge. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in consulting. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Thai.
