West Babylon quality of life -am I missing something?
Hey folks, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The median home value here is around $490,500, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 43,239, West Babylon is a smaller city. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I wrong here? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to.
