Anyone else feel this way? We have two kids and Homes are going for about $244,500 on average. Median household income is $75,043, which feels about average for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What are your go-to spots? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The traffic scene is solid
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much developing but now it's pretty good.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.
