Moving to West Brattleboro for work -advice?

Hey, With a population of 2,614, West Brattleboro is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -West Brattleboro sits at 340.8 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What do you all think? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 10 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into running, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 9 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in real estate. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
