Job hunting in West Carrollton -tips?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a remote worker and Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a small town city with about 13,008 people. Poverty rate is 12.5%, which is around average. Crime rate is something to consider -West Carrollton sits at 349.2 per 100K. Median household income is $57,758, which feels about average for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The community vibe is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a data analyst, 34, moved here 8 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Affordable housing options
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Can feel isolated
2. Limited shopping options
3. The safety situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for singles. improving vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $90K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 14 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
