Hey everyone, The median home value here is around $253,200, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Would love some local perspective.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Highland for 7 years. Moved from New York for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Highland schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And job market can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The healthcare is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- The school system scene is average
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..
