Grocery stores in West Des Moines -recommendations?

Longtime lurker here, Been living here since 2007. The unemployment rate is 1.8%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Does this match your experience? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 2 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into running, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Oak Park for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The safety scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
