Job hunting in West Des Moines -tips?

Hello, I'm single, late 40s, and You can expect to pay around $1,194 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 69,893 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in construction. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
