Rent in West Des Moines getting crazy

Alright, I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 1.8%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
