Starting a business in West Elmira?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm originally from Albuquerque and The median home value here is around $192,900, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $192,900 on average. Median household income is $107,359, which feels pretty solid for the area. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I overthinking this? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely excellent and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Westside) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in West for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- The school system scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..
