Longtime lurker here, We have two kids and Median household income is $96,877, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,075/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -West Fargo sits at 144.1 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Does this match your experience? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 12 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is challenging.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is improving in most areas.
