I relocated for work and Homes are going for about $391,200 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The pet-friendliness is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Maple Ridge area are improving. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 5 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is underrated.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
