OK so I'm a remote worker and With a population of 55,147, West Haven is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $265,200, which seems about average. Rent is about $1,389/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -West Haven sits at 155.1 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I overthinking this? Thanks! Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.
