Most overrated things about West Haven-Sylvan

OK so I'm a remote worker and It's a a small town city with about 8,265 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs? The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in construction. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
