Job market in West Haven for tech?

Hi all, I've been here for 18 years and Rent is about $1,715/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. What do you all think? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Came here for retirement and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The dating scene is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Phoenix about 3 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 12 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is tough.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much established but now it's hit or miss.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Springfield side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.
