Relocating to West Haven, UT -pros and cons?

Alright, Household incomes average around $104,307 in West Haven. Poverty rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. With a population of 19,977, West Haven is a small town. The median home value here is around $511,200, which is pretty steep. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Seattle about 11 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Summers can be brutally hot

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much stable but now it's excellent.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in marketing. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..
