First time home buyer in West Hempstead

First post here. I relocated for work and Median household income is $160,280, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 20,762, West Hempstead is a small town. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. Thanks in advance! It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
